The second panel, titled “Legal Update for Cryptocurrency and Other Web3/Blockchain Transactions,” will cover tax and legal issues. Each panel will conclude with a Q&A. Learn about each panel below.
When to Call the Lawyer: Legal Structuring and Litigation Support in International Transactions
Good international lawyers understand that clients receive the best possible outcomes when accountants and lawyers are both engaged early and working from the same general agenda. Unless a client’s business model is IP-heavy, the client will often engage an accountant before they engage a law firm. For significant events post-entity formation, accountants and lawyers should be in regular contact. This presentation will cover common international transaction and dispute resolution issues where accountants and lawyers should collaborate.
Accounting and Legal Update for Cryptocurrency and Other Web3/Blockchain Transactions
Those following the Web3 industry closely know that this crypto winter has decimated entity and cryptocurrency valuations, leading many to assume that the industry is in terminal decline. But this downturn is one of the best things to happen to the industry. It has exposed and de-incentivized all kinds of nefarious players while serious blockchain developers and communities have doubled down on their investments of time and capital, all while governments scramble to regulate the industry. This discussion will provide an overview of the key players and most pressing tax and legal issues that accountants should expect their clients to encounter.
When: December 1st, 2022
Where: Pendry Hotel, San Diego, California, U.S.
Please note that this conference is open to HLB members only.
