Moore & Van Allen Attorney Jules Carter Named to 2022 Lawyers of Color Hot List

CHARLOTTE, NC—Moore & Van Allen PLLC (MVA) is pleased to announce that Jules W. Carter, an attorney in the firm’s Charlotte office, has been named to the 2022 Lawyers of Color Annual Hot List of early- to mid-career attorneys excelling in the legal profession. Lawyers of Color is a nonprofit devoted to promoting diversity in the legal profession and advancing democracy and equality in marginalized communities.

Jules will be profiled, along with other 2022 Hot List honorees, in the Lawyers of Color’s Hot List 2022 issue.

Jules concentrates on financial regulatory compliance issues, helping clients navigate complex regulatory environments and pursue business strategies that balance innovation with risk-awareness.

Her practice involves advising a range of financial services providers, including globally systemic, regional, and community banks, as well as fintech companies, money services businesses, and brokerage firms. She is particularly interested in anti-money laundering compliance issues, as well as the emerging Web3/digital assets space. Additionally, Jules serves as the chair of the MVA Black Attorney Resource Group (BARG) which supports the personal and professional development of Black lawyers.

She also participates in several of the firm’s pro bono initiatives including, but not limited to, the MVA Housing Rights Project, the MVA Human Trafficking Pro Bono Project, and oversees the MVA Pro Bono Policing Project.
